The YF-23 Black Widow II, nicknamed "Grey Ghost," was a prototype stealth fighter developed by Northrop and McDonnell Douglas as part of the Advanced Tactical Fighter (ATF) program. Although it was praised for its speed and stealth capabilities, it ultimately lost to the Lockheed YF-22 (which became the F-22 Raptor) due to the latter's superior maneuverability and aggressive marketing.
