The H5 series is the first Shinkansen train owned by JR Hokkaido, and began running on the Hokkaido Shinkansen line which opened in the spring of 2016.

Features

• In accordance with the luggage storage areas added to cars 1 to 9, some of the windows in cars 1 to 8 have been blocked off
• The anti-slip surface on the roof is reproduced with gray printing
• Equipped with movable hood
• Equipped with movable pantograph
• Uses hooks and U-shaped conductive couplers
• The symbol mark, green car mark, and car number are printed
• The car number is selectable and compatible with transfer sheets (use the ones included in the basic set)
• Uses a new current collecting system and silver wheels
