The Kawasaki T-4 is a twin-engine jet trainer aircraft of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force.
The Japan Air Self-Defense Force was forced to select a new trainer to replace the aging T-33A and T-1. In fiscal year 1981, a budget for a new trainer was approved and
the MTX (New Medium Jet Trainer) project was launched.
The JASDF uses the T-4 for intermediate training duties -- it's a sharp little plane that's also the mount of Japan's aerobatic team, the "Blue Impulse." This is a sharp little kit, too, with fine engraved panel detail and decals for all the units that fly the T-4.
