Hasegawa 01337 1/72 F-15J Eagle

The F-15J Eagle is the Japan Air Self-Defense Force's main interceptor fighter.
Japan's Air Self-Defense Force is the third country in the world to be equipped with the Eagle, following the United States Air Force and Israel. Having previously used the F-104J as an interceptor fighter, the JASDF investigated the FX as a successor to the F-104J. From among many candidates, the decision was made to adopt the F-15 on December 9, 1976, and the first aircraft arrived at Gifu Air Base on March 27, 1981.

When first introduced, the JASDF's F-15J was essentially the equivalent of the U.S. Air Force's F-15C Block 26, with some modifications unique to the JASDF. The main modifications were the addition of
the JASDF's own automatic warning and control system (Badge System) and a high-speed data device (J/ASW-10 Data Link System) that receives intercept control from E-2C early warning aircraft , as well as changing the antenna at the tip of the vertical tail to a mass-balanced system.

The F-15J will play an active role in defending Japan's skies as the Japan Air Self-Defense Force's main fighter, alongside the upcoming FS-X.
