The seventh-generation Silvia, known as the S15, was launched in January 1999 as a full model change from the S14. With the slogan “SPORTS! SILVIA,” it was developed to further emphasize its character as a true sports car, focusing on sharper performance and a more driver-centric experience. The body was downsized to meet Japan’s compact car (5-number) classification once again, and paired with the powerful 250PS SR20DET engine and a newly developed 6-speed manual transmission.
